Tasks & Responsibilities

• Painting, landscaping, outside grounds
• Small renovation projects
• Day to day work orders

Supervision & Mentoring Plan

• The student will be asked to submit three goals.
     (This will be requested during the interview process and assistance will be     
     provided to achieve these personal goals)
• The student will be supervised by the Environmental Service Manager & mentored by the Maintenance Staff (1)  
• The student will be introduced to the equipment and operations on site
• The student will be exposed to the ‘Policy & Procedures Manual’ within the department and the Ministry of Health Long Term Care Facility Program Manual
• The student will be exposed to Health & Safety practices and participate in meetings

Ensure Awareness of Good Health & Safety Practices in the Workplace

• the student will review all policies & procedures within the department
• the student will participate in New & Young Worker Training, WHMIS training & Fire & Safety Program (Mandatory Training for all new staff)
• the student will participate in all ‘in-house’ in- service training offered
